GDG Algiers’ DevFest 2021 brought to a close!

We end this beautiful and fruitful November by saying our farewell to a phenomenal and top-notch event!

This year, DevFest was beyond the expectation and the assumptions of everyone, taking off with the passion and eagerness of success, the event made a huge impact, thanks to the hard work and dedication our fabulous team has shown.

Like every year, a hackathon took place for three consecutive days with the theme “Live AI”! Participants with different studies’ backgrounds formed teams to start the competition. We witnessed our warriors envisioning, visualizing, pondering, and materializing their astonishing ideas with the help of experienced and adept mentors.

The solutions proposed by every team were judged by professional experts, and by taking a lot of aspects into consideration, the three winning teams were chosen.🎉

Devfest Hackathon had 1 winner but 13 bright ideas!

‘WARMY’ secured their 1st place by introducing a new AI concept for home safety that anyone can rely on in case of indoor accidents.

The 2nd place went to ‘FanZ’, adding by that a second achievement to their well deserved win in the LG theme. Last but not least, the one of a kind team ‘Vagabonds’ saved the 3rd place with their remarkable solution, they all have accomplished what they worked hard for, and made an example of teamwork and dedication, we wish them all the best in their next adventure!✨

Talks and workshops were also in Rendez-vous! All related to the hackathon theme. Marvelous and skillful speakers enriched our minds with their experience and expertise in their respective fields. Like every good thing, our sensational event ended with a grand celebration! Winning teams got their well-deserved prizes and cheers, and the good times were captured by cameras to make DevFest an everlasting memory.📸

WTM Algiers had a share to participate in the Summer Break Challenge, where our team was selected among 12 clubs for this competition’s final round.

It was a competition for the development of digital applications that sought to gather the common work and to brighten up the intelligence skills around the theme problem.
Our team didn’t win, but they had put their effort and dedication into finding solutions.
The Summer Break Challenge was a stellar experience for our community!

WTM Algiers in DevFest 2021!

We can’t make a remarkable version of DevFest without the presence of our main co-organizer WTM Algiers, and what’s better than achieving that through celebrating all women in the STEM field (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics)!

Ada Lovelace Day! The world’s first computer programmer! 🤯

We commemorated the achievement women did throughout the years with a set of exciting online competitive programming challenges, one after one, our brilliant participants have solved the given issues, within 4 long hours of code, we wrapped up the challenge, and selected the team with the best solution in terms of time and space complexity to receive the first place medal.🎊
