So how did GDG & WTM close the 2021 year?

GDG & WTM Algiers Welcome Day:

What’s more uplifting than marking this end-of-year recap with the most exhilarating and thrilling event that is no other than the “Welcome Day”!

GDG and WTM Algiers are welcoming with open arms and hearts new family members.

Our plane took off this December with enthusiastic spirits on board. Making halts in multiple regions from all over the world!

Each destination enlightened us more about what is GDG and WTM, what we represent and bring to the dedicated community, moreover opening their hearts to feel all the positive energy conveyed through quotes written from heart-to-heart.

Eventually, our plane landed in our wonderful GDG Algiers world, the “WorkAdventure” welcome day map made by our dedicated Dev Team, a fantastic place where our passengers customized their characters, made new acquaintances, learned more about our projects, events, goals, departments, and achievements. The conversations were full of curiosity and questions, which we answered with joy and delight.

Although the registrations were only open for two days! Many were able to fill the form, putting all their motivation and eagerness to join.

Last but not least, we thank all of you for being part of this special event, making it alive and enjoyable, we hope to meet you all soon as fellow members. If you missed this opportunity or did not get the chance to join us, don’t worry! Stay tuned, we still have more surprises coming up!

Community voice:

Community voice never fails to enrich our community’s knowledge, we ended this year with amazing topics presented by talented guests.

This month, one of our most loved activities was back, community voice, which is a series of weekly sessions, animated by experts, to share their experience with our rising stars!

Have you ever thought about finding remote work? Are you interested in knowing the state of the web in the world, but you don’t have enough primary knowledge? Or you’re into DevOps, but you haven’t started yet?
Believe it or not! Those topics were discussed this December on our discord server!

TechPoint:

As usual, our GDG Algiers community members impress us with their large tech culture!

This month, we could learn a lot from them throughout our weekly TechPoint sessions, where we discuss technology trends and exchange different points of view on technological advancement.
This month, we enjoyed hearing about their futuristic views of new technologies such as the Metaverse!

Talking about the great opportunities that come after joining our GDG Algiers family. We have some great news!
Qaada GDG is back! Yes, you saw it right!

Open your minds and get to your keyboard, fellows. We are back with our most-awaited and unskippable sessions! This new season kicked off with the topic entitled “demystifying containers: intro to Docker” hosted by no other than GDG Algiers leader “Boutouchent Akram”, followed by another mind-blowing session discussing “Next JS” with our HR manager “Ouael Sahbi”. If by any chance you missed the session, don’t worry, more absorbing and intriguing topics are scheduled and yet to be conveyed. Whether AI, cybersecurity, hacking, or design, the subjects are always trendy and refreshing.
Our hosts are always ready! Never skimp on us with their knowledge and expertise.

WTM Algiers is ready to Break the Stereotype

Are you a woman in the tech industry? If your answer was a ‘YES’ then you probably have faced lots of stereotypes along with your career which may lead to thinking about leaving the STEM field for good!

This month, WTM Algiers launched a new project called “break the stereotype”, where the main goal is to correct those misleading stereotypes applied to women in technology and encourage talented women to continue shining in their careers through informational social media posts, and a panel animated by strong women who have fought against those stereotypes and won the battle eventually.

WTM Algiers has had the pleasure to celebrate the increment of the number of its ambassadors with two wonderful new WTM Ambassadors, congratulations to “Madjda Gheribi“ and “Ouardia Belaidi” on their well-merited accomplishment!

GDG & WTM Algiers had a fruitful and rewarding year, rich with good memories and significant achievements!

We can’t wait to see what surprises 2022 will bring with it!
